About LEA
Liberty Eagle Academy began as a dream. Drs. Anna and Brent Harris desired to expand the local education opportunities to include a place where children’s unique abilities and independence were treasured, opening the school as a Modern Montessori school.
Liberty Eagle Academy is one of the first recognized schools that incorporates ‘Modern Montessori.’ Blending the best of Montessori with traditional teaching methods, allows every child to excel at his or her own pace. Teachers aren’t pigeon-holed into teaching based on rigid guidelines nor limited to a public school ‘Common Core’ curriculum. We facilitate learning with a blend of teaching methods, allowing the child to learn best!
Our Mission: To Empower the Creative, Self-Reliant Leader in Every Child.
To accomplish this mission, Liberty Eagle Academy melds established Montessori pedagogy with modern concepts like STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics] to create Modern Montesori. We strive to create environments where children are excited to learn, persevere through difficulties, and create the education foundation for them to have a lifetime of success.
Our Vision: Liberty Eagle Academy will become the premier preparatory education program in West Georgia.
_______________
Montessori education is founded on a developmental model that teaches to the individual child’s development. Dr. Maria Montessori established the original Montessori model blending her extensive observations of children with her work and knowledge of psychology and anthropology.
How Are the Learning Communities Determined?
Liberty Eagle offers six learning communities with multi-age groupings. Children are generally grouped in three-year-age communities starting in Primary.
- Infant (6 weeks-18 months)
- Toddler (18 months-36 months)
- Primary (3-6 years)
- Lower Elementary (6-8.9 years)
- Upper Elementary (9-11.9 years)
- Middle School (12-14.9 years)
- High School (15+) Coming Soon!
Which Community Will My Child Be In?
Student placement is based on a child’s developmental stage and not only by his or her age. Teachers, administrators, and parents work collaboratively to determine the best community for each child.
Will Liberty Eagle Offer High School Courses?
We plan to include a College Preparatory (9th-12th grade) environment in the near future that provides an exemplary, holistic Montessori education that prepares individuals for real-world living after high school. We recognize that some students will attend a college or university while others will attend a technical school, enter the workforce, or pursue entrepreneurship. We seek to prepare each child for the path that best fits his or her personhood.
